The “Studium”
Centre - Florence (aerial view)
Programme
Location at
the
“Studium” centre CISL
The
CISL "Studium" centre stands on the hills close to Florence,
towards Fiesole, close to S. Domenico. The Center was founded in 1951
with the aim of offering it's own employees a professional and cultural
training programme appropriate to the needs of the union. In this
way, CISL's decision to be a union based on autonomy, pluralism, democracy
and solidarity was strengthened. The Study Center has a structure
which for some time has provided a base for anyone needing the space
and means necessary for personal enrichment on a cultural level, even
beyond union training.
The
beauty of the Study Center is due not only to the nearness of the
historical centers of Florence and Fiesole but also to its position
in the middle of Tuscany's green countryside. All in all, a calm,
attractive environment in which to study and live in a quiet atmosphere.
These different elements allow us to offer a variety of choice to
those who wish to use the Center's Study-rest facilities, either individually
or in groups.
The Library
The
Center's library is specialized in union and labour themes with particular
reference to collective bargaining. The rich library collection is
subdivided into three, constantly updated sections : books (16 000
volumes), periodical (1000 titles) and union documents (2000 pamphlets).
Accommodation
All
the bedrooms have private bathrooms with shower, adjustable air conditioning
and telephone. The Center also has sitting rooms, a 120 seat self-services
restaurant, bar, studies, a main conference hall capable of holding
120 delegates, and smallers classroom fitted with
modern audio-visual equipment, computers, and simultaneous translation
facilities. There is a card-park inside the Center's walls.
